Teaching Trauma-Informed Mindfulness: A Daylong Training for Helping Professionals

This webinar will include actionable, pragmatic, and concrete ways to practice and teach mindfulness to cultivate resiliency in the face of trauma (for our clients) and burnout (for ourselves).

Our *tentative schedule is as follows:

  • 9:00AM: Pragmatic approaches to defining mindfulness with client/student populations; how to practice mindfulness for ourselves and those we work with; pragmatic tips to adapt meditations to be trauma-informed
  • 10:30AM: Break
  • 10:45AM: A deep dive into the window of tolerance and what to do when trauma-impacted populations get triggered
  • 12:00PM: Lunch
  • 1:00PM: How to help trauma-impacted populations develop (and stick to) a mindfulness practice that actually facilitates healing and growth
  • 2:30PM: Break
  • 2:45PM: Our own work: What it really looks like to practice authenticity, help others heal, and keep our own practice in times of stress and chaos

(*tentative: themes may change)

The format of this training will be completely live and online (Zoom) and you’ll be emailed all relevant links and training materials ahead of the training.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define trauma-informed mindfulness
  • Demonstrate trauma-informed mindfulness through both mindfulness meditation and mindfulness beyond meditation
  • Define the window of tolerance and its role in trauma-informed mindfulness
  • Review the necessary steps for helping clients (and ourselves) develop and maintain a trauma-informed mindfulness practice
  • Discuss the role of our own work (self-care/growth) in being a helping professional using a trauma-informed lens

If you’re a therapist, educator, case manager, mentor, health coach, or really any type of “helping professional” who works directly with people impacted by trauma and are looking for concrete ways to use mindfulness to help them self-regulate, heal, and grow, this daylong training is for you!

Other benefits you get for registering for this training:

  • All didactic training blocks (not breakout rooms) for this training will be recorded, and you will get LIFETIME ACCESS to those recordings in our learning management system dashboard so you’ll be able to return to the content over and over!
  • 5.5 CEs for eligible mental health professionals, health coaches, and SUD counselors. Learn more about our CE approvals here.
